| Bloq, aka Jim Dodd, was raised in the UK, relocated to Sydney, Australia, and became hooked with music as a teenager. Becoming absorbed in the emotional and expressive potential of sound, a history of experimentation that began with post-rock band collaborations, was furthered individually through the available mediums of four track tape loops, detuned guitars, drum machines, casio keyboards and toy department oddities. This expression reached maturity with the exposure to the sequencer, sampler and synthesizer with which he shapes his current works.
Releases to date include the compilations Other Animals, Beat & Squelch 3, Couchblip!, Radio National's 'Sound Quality 2' compilation and Tim Koch's 'Please don't tell me that's your Volvo' remix CD. His debut CD Life from the Outside was released on Couchblip! in 2002
Bloq is currently on a musical hiatus which we are all very sad about.
